Demand for CM Post Closed Chapter, Won't Campaign for Bypoll: Yeddyurappa

Hubli, Mar 11 (PTI): Here on a mission of show of strength, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today made it clear that he would not ask the BJP high command for chief ministership and that he would not campaign for the March 18 Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha bypoll in the wake of the attack on him by chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

"Though I had decided to campaign for the party candidate, I have decided against it in the wake of Gowda saying I have eight pending cases against me. In these circumstances my presence will have adverse impact on the outcome of poll result," he told reporters here sarcastically while referring to Gowda and state BJP President K S Eshwarappa, who have been attacking him.

Yeddyurappa, who is here in connection with his 70th birthday celebrations being organised by his supporters, said his demand for his reinstatement as chief minister was a closed chapter and he did not want state party presidentship.

"It is true that I had asked for reinstatement as the chief minister for I desired to present Rs one lakh crore budget. Now I don't want anything. That is a closed chapter," said
Yeddyurappa, who had earlier expressed hope that the party central leadership would do justice to him after the high court order striking down a chapter in Lokayukta report on illegal mining which indicted him leading to his exit as chief minister last year.

Reacting to the high court order, Gowda had said eight other cases were pending against Yeddyurappa, indicating he would not make way for reinstatement of his predecessor.

Yeddyurappa also said tersely that Gowda and Eshwarappa were capable leaders who could help the party win the byelection.

"I don't want to be an obstacle in Gowda and Eshwarappa's endeavours to help party candidate win the bypoll," he said.

Yeddyurappa said he would not demand anything from the central leadership.

"Eshwarappa has already stated that the central leadership will not meet my demands even if my supporters fly to Delhi," he said.

Yeddyurappa's Hubli bash is being attended by about 12 loyalist ministers from North Karnataka, who depend on his hold on the electorate for their re-election, though most still swear by the party.

Yeddyurappa loyalists like ministers Basavaraja Bommai, Murugesh Nirani, V Somanna and C M Udasi, all of whom are from the politically powerful Lingayat community to which the former Chief Minister belongs, had invited BJP national president Nitin Gadkari to attend the Hubli convention, which he declined

Both Gadkari and Gowda as well as these loyalist ministers had been to Goa on March 9 to participate in the swearing in ceremony of newly elected BJP Chief Minister Manohar Parikkar.

What BJP sowed, they are reaping now.
During the early stage of BJP rule in Karnataka, under Mr. Yeddy as CM, his totally wrong, operation Kamala was fully supported by BJP high command. Most of the BJP high command were supported by Reddy and Yeddy.

Now Yeddy feels, he has been cornered and as he had enjoyed thepower for 3 yrs, he want the same.

DVS is doing good work for the State. Yeddy will be out before the next State assembly election. Until that moment Yeddy will do all the dirty game.

Wish DVS will complete his term and offer the citizens, the best services. It is the duty to citizens to support always honest leaders.

Don't trust this 'Yeddy', Daily he is changing his statement like people changes their' chaddi' everyday.
Even now RSS is also loosing it's control over any of their Pariwar members. Yeddy may be knowing that BJP will be defeated in Bi-election that is the reason he doesn't want to go to Udupi-Chikmagalore. After defeat he can say that it is because of Yeddy's absent made BJP lost the election.
His astrologers definetly predicted the results of Chikmagalore. The only loosers if Yeddy is not in the power are Matadeesh and may be some of his corrupt chelas.
Let us pray for Sadananda Gowda to complete his tenure. Still I have doubt.

It is really sad that BJP is destroying itself from within rather than from outside. DVS is a very clean person and only he can restore and give BJP a better name which Yeddi systematically destroyed in the last 3 years. This yeddi should be kicked out once for all. The illiterate people of Karnataka are still following a Crook No.1. I hope good sense prevails soon and Kannadigas allow the first clean BJP CM DVS to run his course and restore the glorious BJP name of Vhajpai era.

Unlike his predecessor, I hope DVS shall not allocate any tax payers money to mutts, mandirs, dargahs, majsids and churches and shall focus on development, employment, law and order, education and eradication of poverty and shall not play caste politics.

People of our state need prosperity with peace. Security, good law and order mechanism and DVS is much more matured and leader of masses. He has the time to prove himself before our state goes in for general assembly election. I like DVS- man with smile. Hasanmukhi always. DVS please keep going... All the best and see that Yeddy remains out.

What we can expect from a CM like Yeddy, who believes in tantrums, who seeks astrologers advice for eveything, who only visits mandirs and temples, who only care for and donate tax payers money to temples and mutts (it goes to the trustees), who believe in blackmagic and all sorts of superstitions...All astrologers betrayed him and his proximity to the clergies didnt work..Poor fellow has to be forced out by this masters...Greed is the root cause of all miseries. No peace of mind. Now he is sure that he wont be reinstated so grapes are sour for him. Patry is supreme than a person and nation is supreme than a party....

Almost all of Denotification cases havebeen filed by Advocate Sirajjin Basha whose affidavit hasbeen found to be false .Mr Basha had filed the case just on the basis of this Affidavit .Given a fair chance BSY is surely a better CM than DVS.I Hope BJP high command gives BSY a chance to come back.Loss in the election by B C Khanduri and a Win by Ramesh Pokriyal at Uttarakhand would havebeen an eye opener for BJP high command

Yeddy may rock DVS boat in Udupi. It is a good challenge between official BJP and BJP (WHY).Certainly added advantage for JP.Hegde.This by election will decide who is who in Karnataka......

Commenting on public platform about unfinished 8 cases of Yeddy might be seen as a taunt for his(Yeddy) aspiration to become CM once again. But one must know that it is Yeddy's courtesy who gifted CM post,a coveted post, DVS can't dreamt in his life (in this "Dunya").DVS comment on Yeddy's case is last nail in the coffin of.....

I wrote before Yeddy will kill Vali from behind to make way for Sugreeva. That's why he won't campaign in Udupi-Chickmanglur. Good decision by Yeddy. Once again I say" Yeddys political carreer is over. He is a Lion without tooth. But he wont keep quiet, he will keep on troubling DVS like "chala bidada Vikrama"tomorrow Bethala will tell him new story. I miss my favourite Chandamama very much.
