Byndoor, May 7: Byndoor police have successfully cracked a major burglary case that occurred in a rented house behind the SBI branch in Yadtare village. The police have arrested a youth hailing from Rajasthan in connection with the crime and recovered Rs 6 lac in stolen cash from his possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mahendra Sain (23), a native of Rajasthan.

The theft took place on April 23, between 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm, at the residence of Rawal Singh, also a native of Rajasthan, who was residing in a rented house behind the SBI bank in Yadtare. Miscreants broke the front door lock while no one was at home, sneaked inside, and made away with Rs 6 lac in cash kept in a Godrej almirah.
Following a complaint, a case was registered at the Byndoor police station under Crime No 41/2026, and sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Under the guidance of the Udupi district superintendent of police, a special investigation team was formed led by Byndoor circle inspector Shivakumar B. Intensifying the probe, the police team successfully tracked down and arrested the accused on Tuesday, May 7, recovering the entire stolen amount of Rs 6 lac.
The successful operation was carried out by Byndoor PSIs Sunil Kumar B Y and Naveen Borakar, and police personnel Santosh Kumar U, Chidananda, Jayarama, Malappa Desai, and Parayya Mathapati. They were assisted by circle office staff Shivananda Huddar and Ashok Rathod, along with Dinesh from the CDR division.
