Bengaluru, May 10: Security forces went into a tizzy after two gelatin sticks were discovered on the roadside near the venue of a programme attended by prime minister Narendra Modi on the outskirts of the city. Following the alarming discovery, police have launched a thorough investigation into the source of the explosives, and security measures in the area have been significantly heightened.
According to police sources, the gelatin sticks were found during a routine security sweep on Sunday, May 10 morning. They were lying by the side of a footpath near Tataguni, close to the Agara lake area, which falls under the Kaggalipura police station limits. The spot is located just about three kilometers away from the venue the prime minister was scheduled to visit.

PM Modi was in Bengaluru to participate in the 45th Foundation Day celebrations of the Art of Living center located on Kanakapura Road near Kaggalipura.
"On Sunday morning, during a routine check, two gelatin sticks were found on the side of a footpath approximately three kilometers from the venue. Further investigation is currently underway," an official police statement confirmed.
Immediately after the discovery, local police, bomb disposal squads, and forensic experts rushed to the spot to safely secure and examine the explosive materials. Police sources have confirmed that one individual has been taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident.
Authorities are actively investigating the motive behind storing or abandoning the gelatin sticks in the area and are trying to ascertain if any other individuals are involved in a potential conspiracy.
Meanwhile, PM Modi attended the scheduled events. During his address, he launched a scathing attack on the opposition, stating, "Betraying people is the job of the Congress. For them, power struggles are more important than solving the problems of the people."
