Tashkent, May 11: Indian boxers continued their impressive run in the girls’ Under-17 category at the Asian Under-15 and Under-17 Boxing Championships being held in Tashkent, with eight pugilists advancing to the finals on Monday.

Despite the strong performance, four Indian boxers had to settle for bronze medals after losing their semifinal bouts.

The semifinals in the boys’ Under-17 category are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, while the finals in both Under-15 and Under-17 categories will take place on May 15.

India has already achieved notable success in the boys’ Under-15 category, where six boxers secured places in the finals.

Seven other Indian boxers in the same category ended their campaign with bronze medals.

The Indian girls’ Under-15 team also delivered a remarkable performance by qualifying for the finals in nine events, further underlining the country’s dominance at the continental championship.
