Mangaluru, May 13: In a major drug bust, the Mulki police have arrested a 21-year-old female college student for attempting to sell Hydro weed (hydroponic ganja) and seized contraband worth approximately Rs 35 lac from her possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Suhana (21), a native of Hulidevara Bana in Sagar taluk, Shivamogga district. She is currently a final-year Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student at a college in Kundapur.

Based on credible information, a joint team comprising the Panambur ACP squad and Mulki police intercepted Suhana on the Mulki railway station Road on Tuesday, May 12, while she was transporting the narcotics for sale.
Upon searching her, the police recovered 1 kg and 42 grams of hydroponic weed, estimated to be worth Rs 35,00,000. Along with the narcotics, the police also confiscated a mobile phone and other belongings allegedly used to facilitate the crime.
Procured from Chennai
During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the accused had procured the high-value narcotic from Chennai. She had brought it to Mangaluru with the intention of illegally supplying and selling it across the city to make a quick profit.
A case has been registered at the Mulki police station (Crime No. 32/2026) under sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
