Mangaluru, May 13: The Ullal police have registered a case against 11 individuals for allegedly intercepting the vehicle of Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader and creating a ruckus over the construction of a circle in Kuthar. The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by the Speaker's bodyguard.

According to the details, the incident took place a few days ago when U T Khader was visiting Ullal taluk. A group of people, reportedly disgruntled over the Kuthar circle construction and other local civic issues, blocked his vehicle. The mob allegedly behaved rudely and expressed their outrage, creating a tense atmosphere at the spot for some time.

Taking the security breach and the unruly behaviour seriously, the Speaker's bodyguard, Mohammed Yasin, filed a formal complaint at the Ullal police station.

Based on the complaint, the police have named one primary accused along with 10 others who were part of the mob.

They have been booked under various charges, including unlawful assembly and obstructing a public representative from discharging his official duties in a public place. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
