Satwik-Chirag enter Thailand Open final

Bangkok, May 16: Indian badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stormed into the men’s doubles final of the Thailand Open after defeating Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in a thrilling semifinal clash in Bangkok on Saturday.

The Indian pair registered a hard-fought 19-21, 22-20, 21-16 victory in an intense contest lasting 82 minutes to reach their first final of the season.

This also marks Satwik and Chirag’s third final appearance at the Thailand Open following their title-winning campaigns in 2019 and 2024.

In the final, the Indian duo will face either Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin or China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu.
