The state-of-the-art apartment building, comprising 10 individual homes, was officially inaugurated by Rev Dr J B Saldanha, parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, who cut the ribbon. Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, and Stevan Pinto, representing philanthropist Michael D’Souza, jointly unveiled the building's nameboard.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Dr J B Saldanha highlighted that 'United Homes' stands as a shining example of how a lay organization can execute impactful, large-scale community projects independently. True to its name, the project demonstrates that when people stand united, extraordinary things can be achieved for society. The initiative will now provide a secure roof and a community-driven environment for 10 deserving families, setting a beautiful benchmark for other social organizations to emulate.

In his address, Walter Nandalike highly appreciated the continuous generosity of Michael D’Souza and his family toward uplifting the underprivileged. He also lauded United Friends, Bejai, for their relentless commitment to various impactful social activities over the years.

Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank Ltd, along with Alfred Bennis and other prominent well-wishers of the organization, handed over the house keys to the new beneficiaries.

Earlier, C J Lobo, president of United Youngsters, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Sylvester Lobo, secretary of United Friends, Bejai, delivered the introductory speech, outlining the journey of the project.
