Kasargod, Mar 13: Movie producer Tajuddin (29) had been recently abducted from Kalamassery in the state. The gang which took Tajuddin away had also placed a demand for ransom.

The arrested persons are Sukumar (34) from Muttattodu in Kasargod, Farooq (19) from Krishnapura Suratkal near Mangalore, Zubair (25) from Duggaladka in Sullia, and Sanjay (32), a native of Palakkad Chittoor. They are are being interrogated.

The police said that Irfan, the main accused in the case, and a 25-year-old woman, who is the sixth accused, have gone into hiding.

The film producer, Tajuddin from Kollam Pudussery, who has produced Malayalam movies like ‘Loud Speaker’ and ‘The Train’, had been kidnapped from a tourist home in Tambanur in Thiruvananthapuram on March 10.

The gang, which gained entry into Tajuddin's room by use of force at around 3.30 am, had abducted him in a car. The gang had assaulted Tajuddin, and placed a demand for payment of Rs 20 lac as ransom for his release. They did not yield to Tajuddin’s pleas to let him go, and his statement that he did not have the money as demanded by them fell on deaf ears. After much cajoling, the gang reportedly agreed to release him against payment of three lac rupees.

Tajuddin told the gang that his cheque book was with his friend, Sanjeeva, living in Chaitanya Nagar in Kalamassery. He convinced his kidnappers to call his friend to come near HMT in Kalamassery with the cheque book. As soon as the car reached HMT, Tajuddin got down from the car and called the police, which was noticed by the abductors, it is said. The police came to the spot and took the four persons into custody.

    No difference between these people and police, both are of same category. Especially mangalore police. Everyday they goto some restaurent for their free meals. Mangalore is more dangerous then kasaragod, here in mangalore police also take haftha like goons, if anyone fails then they will torture him.

    @Harsha Malhotra/Delhi,

    If there is a threat to our nation, our military has to intervene which comprises of Indian citizen from all faiths. If there is dream of threat to mangalore, this guy is inviting Bajrang Dal to intervene. Daily there is lots of infiltration to our country from across border. Why these Bajrangies go and defend our borders???? We Mangaloreans are enough to defend ourselves. There are daily rapes, accidental deaths, robberies are happening in and around Delhi. Why cant you take these BD guys to your Delhi and intervene there and stop the crime.

    Why only in Mangalore. After all you are an oursider to us and you belong to Delhi. So you please take care of Delhi with these BD. You dare not, because Delhi is ruled by iron lady Sheila Dixit. Delhi mei tumhari daal nahi galthi... Poor fellow. Please allow us to live in peace and harmony. BDs are neither investigating nor law enforcing agencies. They are a part of sangh parivar who have no teeth to show.

    We certainly dont allow the peace to be evaporated from our city. We have lived in peace in the past and shall live in peace in the future too. Elections come and go.. Leaders come and go.. but our brotherhood will remain forver... I love all my tulunadu people and they are my extended families. I am too a part of their tulunadu family. Tuluva culture is great culture.. Its land of Rani Abbakka, its land of Koti Chennaya, its land of Abdulla Sowkar, its land of Fr. Mullers.. We shall not be devided. More you try to devide us more we shall bond together. Your efforts shall go down the drain and in the end you shall be an ultimate loser...

    Harsha Malhotra/Mangalore,

    If such actions are not supported, facilitated and defended by people like your thinking, I am sure, Mangalore and Udupi shall be a better and peaceful place to live happily with lots of love and brotherhood.....

    People like you, who have migrated from other parts of the country, have been spoiling our peaceful co existance by writing irresponsibly and by instigating one person against the other...We dont need any outsiders in our sacred soil. We are much more capable of manaing our affairs without the need of people like you... Its high time for you to pack up and leave our land before you are forcibly evicted....We need absolute peace and nothing more and nothing less.

    In the First place I Condemn this incident and those Kidnappers need to be punished .But I strongly believe this producer Tajuddin owed some money to some money lenders and those who abducted him were money recovery agents because they agreed to take payment by Cheque.No Kidnappers agree for a cheque.More over as per the Cheque bouncing laws if you give police complaint then even if cheque bounces legally the cheque issuer will not be held
