Bantwal, May 18: In a dramatic incident, two workers who accidentally fell into a well while carrying out work at Kuriyala in Bantwal taluk were rescued by personnel of the Bantwal fire and emergency services on Sunday evening.
The injured have been identified as Padmanabha (38) and Ramanna (48), both residents of Barimaru.
According to reports, the duo had travelled from Barimaru to the residence of Keshava Poojary in Kukkaaje village to undertake well-related work. The mishap occurred while they were climbing back up after completing the task, when they reportedly slipped and plunged into the well.





Locals immediately alerted the fire service. With assistance from residents, fire personnel swiftly launched a rescue operation and succeeded in pulling both men out of the well.
Both workers escaped with their lives, though Ramanna sustained a severe leg injury, it is learnt.
The rescue operation was carried out under the supervision of assistant fire station officer Harish K G, along with staff members Purushotham, Kiran Kumar, Vinay, Vijay Kumar and Dharma M, who took part in the operation.
