Bantwal: Fire Burns Down Auto, Damages House

Bantwal, Mar 13: An accidental fire which got ignited in a parked auto rickshaw spread to a nearby house and resulted in heavy loss on Monday March 12.

The incident occurred at Sajipamunnur village in the taluk. Abdul Rahiman from Manjalpade in Sajipamunnur had parked his auto rickshaw in the shed adjoining his house. Due to unknown reasons, fire started blazing in the rickshaw before spreading to nearby house.

While the vehicle was completely reduced to ashes, the house was partially gutted. The loss would have been extensive, had the neighbours who saw the fire, not rushed to help the family members to douse the flames.

A loss of two lac rupees has been estimated in this incident. A case was registered in the town police station here.
