Mangalore, Mar 13: ‘Psycho-Vision’, state level fest was organized by Department of PG Studies and Research in Psychology on Monday March 12.

Dr V George Mathew, prof (Retd) of Psychology, University of Kerala, spoke after inaugurating the fest. “Conducting a research just for acquiring PHD is just a trash in the field of psychology, which doesn’t enhance the true approach towards the topic”, he said. “Psychologist must realize that he have an immortal role to play. We are still in the circle of western psychology, which is more on the side of commercial elements. Western psychology has annalistic approach when Indian system of psychology stands on holistic approach. So most of our psychology friends are working hard and writing books to create an isolated island called Indian psychology. And I intentionally stopped visiting universities if they call me to value the research, which I personally reckon as futile for reason of not spending true value based approach to the study”, he added.

Prof J Mhaaver Jain, in his presidential address said, “Quality education is for the modification of human behavior. We in here provide students a value and quality based education by organizing programme which delivers them as a better intellectuals when they step into job market”.

Dr M Y Manjula, HOD, Department of PG Studies and Research in psychology, welcomed the gathering. Introductory words to the Psycho-Vision were conveyed by Mahesh B S. Navya delivered the vote of thanks.
