Mangaluru: Alternative arrangements made in DK ahead of medical stores' shutdown on May 20

Mangaluru, May 19:
In view of the nationwide pharmacy shutdown called on Wednesday, May 20, to protest against the online sale of medicines, alternative arrangements have been made in Dakshina Kannada district to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential medicines to the general public.

To prevent any inconvenience to patients, several chain pharmacies and hospital-attached outlets will remain open as usual throughout the day.

According to an official release from the assistant drugs controller, 38 outlets of Apollo Pharmacy, 48 outlets of MedPlus, and 130 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras across the district will operate normally.

Additionally, all medical stores situated within hospital premises throughout Dakshina Kannada will remain open. The public is advised to make use of these services in case of requirements.

The assistant drugs controller of Mangaluru has been appointed as the nodal officer for the district to oversee the emergency supply.
