CBI to Probe Killing of Madhya Pradesh Cop

Bhopal, Mar 13 (IANS): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday announced a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the killing of Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Narendra Kumar on Holi day.

Narendra Kumar's family as well as opposition parties had been demanding a CBI probe into the murder.

On March 8, the 2009 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was mowed down by a tractor-trolley, being driven by an alleged member of the mining mafia, when he tried to stop the vehicle carrying illegally-quarried stones in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan had earlier ordered a judicial probe.
