Brahmavar: Retired LIC officer killed in bike accident while crossing highway

Brahmavar, May 20: A retired LIC officer died after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road near Coastal Paradise Hotel at Sasthan, close to Brahmavar, on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Raghavendra Upadhyaya (75). According to reports, the accident occurred when he was crossing the National Highway from the eastern side towards the western side.

A motorcycle travelling from Udupi towards Kundapur allegedly knocked him down, causing him severe injuries.

He was rushed to hospital immediately, but succumbed to his injuries on the way, sources said.

Raghavendra Upadhyaya was running a commercial complex in Sasthan and was known to be a people-friendly personality in the locality.

He is survived by his wife and son.

Police from Kota station visited the spot and are investigating the case.
