Beltangady: Three youths arrested for allegedly harassing young women at Didupe waterfalls

Beltangady, May 21: Three youths were arrested by Beltangady police for allegedly behaving inappropriately and sexually harassing three young women at Didupe waterfalls in Beltangady taluk.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Khader Altaf (36), Faizal Adil (27), and Usman Saleem (18), all natives of Kasargod, Kerala.

According to reports, the three young women, who are studying at a private college in Mangaluru, had gone to Didupe waterfalls along with the three youths on Wednesday, May 20.

During the outing, the youths allegedly behaved inappropriately with the women and sexually harassed them. When the young women resisted and raised an alarm, members of the public present at the spot caught hold of the three youths and informed the Beltangady police.

Police later took the three accused into custody and rescued the young women.

A case has been registered at Beltangady police station, and the car used by the accused has been seized.
