Manchester, May 23: Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season following his outstanding performances for Manchester United during the ongoing Premier League campaign.
The Portuguese midfielder enjoyed a remarkable season, scoring eight goals and providing 20 assists with one match still remaining. Fernandes also emerged as the league’s leading playmaker, creating a season-high 132 chances.
Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool FC finished second in the list with 89 chances created.

Fernandes is now on the verge of creating Premier League history, needing one more assist to surpass the single-season assist record jointly held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
Manchester United will next face Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express Stadium in Brighton, where Fernandes could potentially break the long-standing assist record.
The 20-time English champions have already secured third place in the Premier League standings and confirmed qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United have recorded 19 wins, 11 draws, and seven defeats in 37 league matches this season. The club will look to finish the campaign on a winning note as they prepare for the new season under permanent head coach Michael Carrick.
