Mangaluru, May 28: Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, CBSE Kotekar organised a teachers’ orientation programme for the teaching faculty on May 28. The programme focused on classroom management, positive discipline, understanding new generation learners, competency-based learning, and 21st century skills in alignment with CBSE expectations.

Tr Rajeshwari formally welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person, Sriraghavan SM, a renowned astronomer and educationist. The resource person was accorded a floral welcome by the school principal, Sr Pramila AC.

The orientation session was highly interactive, activity-based, and insightful. Sriraghavan S M emphasised the importance of positive classroom management rooted in empathy, respect, responsibility, and meaningful student engagement. He also highlighted the significance of 21st century skills and encouraged teachers to adopt innovative, competency-based, and learner-centred teaching strategies to make classroom learning more engaging and effective.

Various activities and group discussions were conducted during the session, enabling teachers to actively participate, exchange ideas, and reflect upon modern classroom practices. The engaging and collaborative nature of the programme made the session enriching and inspiring for all participants.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Tr Suhani, expressing gratitude to the management, principal, resource person, and all the teachers for their active participation and support.
