Mangaluru, May 29: Moms of Mangalore distributed Mom Study Scholarships worth Rs 1,03,430 to six deserving students who excelled academically despite financial difficulties. The initiative covered the academic year fees of the selected students, bringing relief and happiness to their families.
Students from Inoli, Kolya, Padavinangadi, Bajpe and Bejai were selected after reviewing applications received from different areas. Scholarship certificates were distributed by Lyvia Cardoza, Veena Rodrigues, Mariam and Nayana Krishnapura.

The scholarship amount was raised through the collective efforts of the Moms of Mangalore community using funds generated through Instagram advertisements, collaborations, promotional shoots and engagement activities, along with contributions from two anonymous donors.
Speaking about the initiative, Lyvia Cardoza, community manager of Moms of Mangalore, said:
“We kept thinking — if our platform can bring people together for fun activities, collaborations and brand shoots, why can’t it also bring people together for something meaningful?
And honestly, education felt like the most powerful thing we could contribute towards. Because when you support one child’s education, you are not just helping that one child… you are uplifting an entire family’s future.
So this idea came from a very simple place — from the heart. Just wanting to do whatever little we can, collectively, as a community.”
Veena Rodrigues from the Moms of Mangalore admin team said that seeing the smiles and relief on the faces of the students and their parents made all the effort worthwhile and encouraged the team to continue such initiatives in the future.
Dr Nayana Krishnapura from the Moms of Mangalore admin team said that for the past ten years, Moms of Mangalore has been trying in its own small way to spread love, kindness and a little hope across communities, and that this scholarship initiative was one such beautiful effort born out of collective care and support.
The organisers said every advertisement, collaboration, reel and engagement on the platform ultimately contributed towards making the scholarship initiative possible.
The team said the initiative was a reminder that when a community comes together with care and purpose, even small efforts can bring hope and make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
