Mangaluru, May 30: St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, celebrated its XVI Graduation Day 2026 recently, honouring the academic accomplishments of its graduating students. The ceremony was marked by inspiring addresses and a call for graduates to serve society with knowledge, commitment, and purpose.
This year, 91 rank holders were honored, with 16 special prizes awarded to exceptional performers. In total, 2630 students graduated this year.




















The ceremony featured a solemn oath-taking led by Fr Brian Pereira SJ, followed by the official declaration of the convocation by Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ. The college choir led the gathering in prayer, and the college band escorted the dignitaries to the dais.
In his address as the chief guest, Prof Sharath Ananthamurthy, vice chancellor of Kuvempu University, Shivamogga, encouraged the graduating students to carry the Aloysian spirit of learning, growing and serving generously in their future lives. “Education in a technology driven world must retain its spirit of enquiry and nurture the ability to learn how to learn. St Aloysius has always done commendable work on this front” he added.
Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, president of Mangaluru Jesuit Educational Society (MJES) and Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province urged the students to pursue what they love doing and transcend above the rat race. “Have faith in yourself, enable the world with the spirit of serving, and enrich the world with new knowledge” he added.
Dr Praveen Martis SJ, principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), welcomed the gathering, emphasising the importance of purposeful action. The registrar, Dr Ronald Nazareth, presented the list of graduating students, recognising outstanding achievers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Vaishali Rai, acknowledging the efforts of faculty, students, and organisers in making the graduation ceremony a memorable occasion. Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza and Dr Sanjoop compered the graduation ceremony.
