Bengaluru, Jun 2: The Karnataka government has declared a half-day holiday on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3, for all government officials and staff working at the Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, and the Multi-Storeyed (MS) Building.
The decision was taken in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister-designate of Karnataka, which is scheduled to take place at 4:05 pm on June 3 at the Karnataka Lokabhavan.

According to the official notification issued on Tuesday, the afternoon holiday has been declared considering the expected large gathering of people and potential traffic congestion in and around the Karnataka Lokabhavan area. The measure was implemented prioritizing the overall security and safety of the region.
The official order was issued by R Yadukumar, under secretary to the government, department of personnel and administrative reforms (DPAR), by the order of the governor of Karnataka.
