Udupi: Two Fishermen Lose Lives at Malpe

Udupi, Mar 15: Two fishermen lost their lives in two different incidents within the jurisdiction of Malpe police station.

While pulling back the net on Tuesday night, Padmanabha (41) from Katapadi Mattu accidentally fell into the water and breathed his last. Reportedly, he lost grip while pulling the net, and fell into the sea.

Venkatesh Tingalaya (47), a fisherman, drowned while emptying load of fish from Gajanana Boat owned by Venkappa Suvarna along with many other labourers, on Wednesday March 14 morning. During the operation, he suddenly slipped and fell unconscious. He was taken to a hospital immediately, but he did not positively respond to treatments aimed at reviving him, it is gathered.
