Mangaluru, Jun 5: Expert PU College, Valachil, hosted the Student-Parent Orientation Programme (SPOP) 2026 for freshers and their parents. The programme aimed to familiarise students and parents with the institution’s facilities, academic planning, rules and regulations and expectations.
Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, stressed the importance of faith in parents and teachers, discipline, and hard work in achieving success. He encouraged students to dream big and pursue those dreams as a mission, adding that one’s future depends on how well one utilises time.





















Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, urged parents and students to reflect on why they chose Expert. She called on parents to play a proactive role in their wards’ growth and formally inducted students into the Expert family by administering an oath.
In the technology briefing, Ankush N Nayak, IT director, explained how technology supports students on campus through cashless transactions and enables parents to track their children’s academic progress online.
Presenting the institutional overview, principal Subramanya Udupa outlined the college’s norms, rules and regulations, focus on academic excellence, discipline, health and hygiene, and campus security. Shyamprasad S, coordinator of AICE, briefed students on academic planning and preparation for All India Competitive Examinations for professional courses.
The orientation was conducted in five sessions. Anitha P Shetty, chief resident mentor, Jasmine Prathibha, lecturer in English, and Dhruthi V Hegde, vice principal (academics) welcomed the gathering, compered the event, and proposed the vote of thanks.
Vice principal (academics) Gurudatta N, student counsellors Vidyasharada and Srinivas, programme director Rakshith M R and members of the staff were in attendance.
