Mangaluru, Jun 5: St Agnes School (CBSE), Bendore, Mangaluru, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and environmental consciousness on June 5 in the school auditorium. The programme was thoughtfully organized to instil a deep sense of responsibility among students towards protecting and preserving the environment, aligning with the global vision of environmental awareness observed annually.
The celebration began with a serene prayer service, invoking blessings for a clean, green, and harmonious planet. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance that artistically portrayed the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. A warm and cordial welcome extended to the principal, Sr Jenifer Moras A C, vice principal, Sr Meena Fernandes AC, coordinator Sr Lavi Shanthi AC, teachers, and students. A welcome address was delivered by Jewel Pinto, who thoughtfully underscored the importance of World Environment Day and reminded the audience that nature forms the very foundation of life. The comperes, Leanna Jean Crasta and R Janavi of grade VIII B, eloquently highlighted the significance of nature as an indispensable part of human existence and emphasized the urgent need to safeguard it for future generations.




































A warm welcome was extended to the chief guest of the programme, Sr Jennifer Moras AC, with a potted blossom presented by the coordinator, Sr Lavi Shanthi AC, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and respect for nature.
A thought-provoking skit presented by the students vividly depicted the adverse impact of human activities on the environment and conveyed a strong message urging everyone to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly practices. The programme further featured a melodious song and vibrant dance performances, all reinforcing the theme “Save Nature, Save Life.”
A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of the SOF Olympiad Gold Medal winners. The achievers honoured included Janice Rachel Mascarenhas (grade IV) for securing gold medals in Mathematics, Science, and English Olympiads, Ilaaf Begum (grade IV) for securing gold medals in English and Mathematics, and Arin Maria (grade III) for securing a gold medal in Mathematics and Science.
The following students were also recognized for their commendable achievements in Mathematics, Science and English respectively - Rehal D’Souza, Jensen Nevan Pinto, Adwita Gadiyar, Prita Jessica D’Souza, Neethal Shreya D’Sa, Preemal Christina D’Souza, Leanna Jean Crasta, and Olga Jane Walter. Their accomplishments stand as a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence, bringing great pride to the institution.
The principal addressed the gathering with an inspiring and insightful message, encouraging students to take proactive steps in protecting the environment and to incorporate eco-friendly habits into their daily lives. She also appreciated the students of grade VIII B for their commendable efforts in organizing a meaningful programme and lauded the teachers for their guidance and support.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Olga Jane Walter, who expressed sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The celebration culminated with the school anthem, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of responsibility and commitment towards caring for and preserving Mother Earth. The World Environment Day celebration was both meaningful and impactful, inspiring all present to actively contribute towards building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
