Dambulla, Jun 5: The India ‘A’ squad has arrived in Sri Lanka ahead of the upcoming 50-over tri-nation series, scheduled to be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium from June 9 to June 21.
Led by Tilak Varma, India A will begin its campaign against hosts Sri Lanka A on June 9. The tournament also features Afghanistan A, with the final set to be played on June 21.
Sharing photographs of the team's arrival, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) welcomed the visiting side, which includes players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Anukul Roy.

In a social media post, SLC expressed enthusiasm for the tournament, highlighting the arrival of the India A team and anticipating an exciting competition among the three participating sides.
The Indian squad underwent two notable changes before departure. Following his selection for India's Test and ODI squads for the Afghanistan series, Harsh Dubey was unavailable for the tour, leading to the inclusion of Anukul Roy.
Meanwhile, Gaikwad was appointed vice-captain after Riyan Parag was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Parag, who reportedly managed the issue during the latter stages of the 2026 IPL season while captaining Rajasthan Royals, is expected to undergo rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Among the squad members, Varma, Gaikwad and Anshul Kamboj are the only players with senior India caps. The tournament will also provide an opportunity for emerging talents such as Priyansh Arya, Sooryavanshi, Prabhsimran Singh, Ayush Badoni and Nishant Sindhu to impress selectors.
The coaching group for the tour is expected to include Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Sunil Joshi, Lakshmipathy Balaji and Shubhadeep Ghosh.
