Bengaluru, Jun 5: Close on the heels of senior minister Ramalinga Reddy's sudden resignation, another veteran leader and food minister K H Muniyappa has publicly expressed his discontent regarding portfolio allocations, dropping a bombshell of dissatisfaction.
Speaking to the media in Devanahalli, Muniyappa issued a stern warning, stating, "Seniority has not been considered in the allocation of portfolios. If this discrimination continues, it will create significant difficulties for the party in the 2028 elections."

Muniyappa expressed intense displeasure over being assigned the food department again, a portfolio he has already managed for the past three years.
Demand for major portfolios
"I am one of the most senior leaders, having won eight elections. According to protocol, portfolios should have been allocated based on seniority. I had previously requested major portfolios like social welfare or agriculture, which provide direct opportunities to serve the people. However, no balance has been maintained in the allocation," he lamented.
Directing his dissatisfaction at the party leadership, the minister added, "I hold the position of a mother in the party. A mother should treat all her children equally with the same eye. I have already met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi personally to submit my appeal regarding this. I am confident that they will change my portfolio immediately without leaving any room for confusion."
Muniyappa further expressed that if he is given departments such as social welfare, agriculture, or irrigation, he would be able to serve the public better and make meaningful contributions to the farming community.
