Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 6: The kindergarten wing of Ladyhill School (ICSE), Urwa, came alive with laughter, colour, and excitement as it warmly welcomed its LKG and UKG students on June 3, for the commencement of the new academic year. The reopening celebration marked the beginning of a delightful journey, filled with learning, friendship, creativity, and growth for the young learners.

The school entrance was beautifully decorated with a vibrant rainbow and floral arch, creating a warm and enchanting atmosphere for the children and their parents.

As the little learners arrived, they were welcomed with a cheerful song that filled the surroundings with joy and excitement. Colourful stars, delightful rabbit-ear headbands, bright flowers, and fluttering butterfly decorations added to the festive spirit, making the children feel special, loved, and excited as they stepped into their classrooms on the first day of the new academic year.

To mark the beginning of a new academic year, a special assembly was thoughtfully organized for the young learners. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the KG coordinator, Sr Marline D’Cunha, AC, who greeted the children, dignitaries and staff and set a joyful and encouraging tone for the day. Roses were presented to the dignitaries as a token of respect and appreciation. The assembly then continued with a melodious prayer song, creating an atmosphere of peace, hope, and positivity, and seeking God's blessings for a happy, successful, and enriching year of learning and growth.

To highlight the values and essence of education, the children took part in a symbolic offering ceremony, presenting light, flowers, and a school bag—each representing knowledge, blossoming potential, and the joy of learning. One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the inauguration activity, where the little learners enthusiastically dipped their hands in vibrant colours and imprinted them on a tree mural. The colourful handprints transformed the tree into a beautiful symbol of growth, togetherness, creativity, and the beginning of a new academic journey filled with endless possibilities.

Adding to the festive spirit, the kindergarten teachers presented a lively action song that captivated the young learners and filled the hall with joy, laughter, and enthusiastic participation. The children eagerly joined in with cheerful actions and bright smiles, creating a vibrant atmosphere and making the celebration a truly memorable experience for everyone present.

The celebration was further enriched by the presence and blessings of Sr Maria Kripa AC, joint secretary, who warmly welcomed the young learners and encouraged them to embrace each day with curiosity, confidence, and joy. Addressing the children with affection, she highlighted the importance of learning through play, exploration, and friendship. Sr Therese Teena AC, principal, also shared her heartfelt message, extending a warm welcome to the little ones. Adding a delightful touch to her interaction, she taught the children a cheerful ‘Butterfly Clap,’ which they enthusiastically joined in, filling the hall with smiles and laughter. She further inspired the young learners to make the most of their school journey through learning, kindness, and joyful participation.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by teacher Elizabeth, who expressed sincere gratitude to the management, dignitaries, staff, parents, and little learners for their presence, support, and enthusiastic participation. She acknowledged the collective efforts that made the reopening celebration a joyful and memorable occasion, marking a wonderful beginning to the new academic year.

The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and countless happy moments that created lasting memories for the children and their families. It was a beautiful celebration of new beginnings, marking the start of an enriching journey of learning, creativity, discovery, and growth. As the little learners take their first steps into the new academic year, Ladyhill School (ICSE) looks forward to nurturing their talents, inspiring their curiosity, and helping them blossom into confident, compassionate, and joyful individuals.
