Udupi, Jun 6: St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with great enthusiasm embracing its impactful theme- ‘Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For our Future’.
A vibrant programme, hosted by students of grade 10 commenced with a reverent prayer invoking blessings for the wellbeing of environment. Hrithika expressed a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries of the event- Sr Maria Roopa AC, administrator of the school and chief guest of the event, Sr Lathika AC, principal, Sr Preethi Savitha AC, vice principal as well as faculty and students.























The significance of the day was eloquently presented by Dheemahi highlighting the urgent need for environmental stewardship. The audience was the treated to a series of meaningful performances including an expressive dance advocating prevention of deforestation, an inspirational skit titled- ‘Earth in the Future’, a mellifluous song celebrating the gifts of Mother Earth and an informative environmental quiz, all which awakened a sense of personal responsibility towards environment.
Adding to the grandeur of the celebration, was the beautifully crafted and meaningful eco-thematic backdrop meticulously crafted by students. Its vibrant colours, creative artwork, and inspiring message served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility towards Mother Earth.
Sr Maria Roopa, in her keynote address to the students, emphasized that the environment is the foundation of life itself and every part of Nature is our greatest teacher and most valuable treasure. Reminding the students that ‘the Earth does not belong to us, but we belong to the Earth’, she shared valuable tips to keep our environment green, clean and flourishing for the future.
The programme concluded with a gracious vote of thanks by Mohammed Alman followed by the national anthem.
