New Chandigarh, Jun 7: India declared their first innings at a formidable 564 for 8 on Day 2 of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at New Chandigarh on Sunday.
Skipper Shubman Gill led the charge with a brilliant 126, while KL Rahul struck an impressive 100. India also received valuable contributions from Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudharsan, who scored 81 runs each.
Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 52 as India piled up a massive total after opting to bat first.

For Afghanistan, Saleem Safi was the standout bowler, claiming six wickets.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat. The one-off Test is being played outside the World Test Championship cycle.
Afghanistan will now look to respond strongly with the bat as they begin their first innings.
