Udupi, Jun 8: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the community awareness team under the INSPIRE Project, in collaboration with the Eco Club, organized a campus-wide clean-up drive under the global theme, ‘Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for a Future'.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff members, who joined hands to collect waste materials from various parts of the LMH campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental responsibility and create awareness about sustainable waste management practices.

A unique highlight of the event was the creation of a plastic tree sculpture using the collected waste materials. The Eco Club president explained the significance of the sculpture, emphasizing the harmful impact of plastic pollution on the environment and the urgent need to adopt eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
As part of the observance, saplings were planted across the campus, symbolizing hope, growth, renewal, and the collective responsibility of individuals toward building a greener and healthier future.
The programme was further enriched by the esteemed presence of Dr Sushil Jathanna, managing director, whose inspiring words encouraged participants to continue contributing towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
