Udupi: Chartered accountant Ranganath Krishna Achar passes away at 56

Udupi, Jun 9: Noted Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant Ranganath Krishna Achar (56), a resident of Ambalpady in Udupi, passed away in Bengaluru on June 8 following prolonged illness.

Born and brought up in Udupi, Achar completed his commerce degree from MGM College and underwent his Chartered Accountancy article ship training with Prabhajith & Co, a reputed CA firm in Udupi. After qualifying as both a Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant, he built a distinguished professional career spanning several decades.

He spent nearly two decades in Abu Dhabi, UAE, serving in various capacities including internal auditor, cost controller and finance manager, earning recognition and respect within professional circles. Following his return to India, he settled in Udupi and Bengaluru, where he was actively engaged in tax, finance and management consultancy services.

Achar was also known for his contributions to the professional community through his regular articles on taxation, finance and management published on platforms such as TaxGuru, CAclubindia, Daijiworld and other media outlets. He served as a member of the managing committee of the Udupi chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

A deeply religious person, he was a devoted follower of Lord Krishna of Udupi and was admired for his humility, integrity and commitment to his profession.

He is survived by his wife, son, and a large circle of relatives, friends and well-wishers.

His demise has been mourned by members of the accounting profession, colleagues and the Udupi community.
