Mangaluru, Jun 10: Some love stories may remain unfinished, but the emotions they leave behind stay alive forever. This timeless sentiment forms the heart of Amchi O’Dhuri Kanni, a beautifully crafted Konkani music video that has touched audiences with its emotional storytelling, soulful music, and breathtaking visuals.
Storyline and direction by the talented Jaison Danel D’Souza and produced by Vani Ravikumar under Dhyan Productions, Amchi O’Dhuri Kanni is much more than just a music video it is a labor of love, dedication, and unwavering commitment from an entire team that overcame numerous challenges to bring this dream project to life.

A dream project for Ashwin D’Costa
At the center of this project is Ashwin D’Costa, for whom Amchi O’Dhuri Kanni has been a long-cherished dream. Ashwin not only penned the lyrics and composed the song but also lent his voice to it and portrayed the lead male character, Arjun.
His dedication to the project shines through every frame and every note, making the song deeply personal and emotionally authentic.
Sharing the screen with him is Sharon D’Souza, who makes her acting debut through this music video. Despite being her first on screen appearance, Sharon delivers a remarkable performance, bringing grace, emotion, and sincerity to the character of Sara. The chemistry between Ashwin and Sharon adds depth and realism to the narrative, making their story resonate strongly with viewers.
A story that touches the heart
The song narrates the poignant story of Arjun and Sara, two individuals deeply in love whose lives are shattered by a tragic accident. While Sara’s life comes to an untimely end, Arjun is left behind, struggling to come to terms with the loss. Haunted by memories and burdened by guilt, he finds himself trapped between reality and hope, often believing Sara is still alive.
The narrative beautifully portrays the pain of separation and the enduring nature of true love, reminding audiences that some relationships may not reach their intended destination, yet their essence remains eternal.
While the final visuals appear serene and magical, the journey to capture them was anything but easy.
The shooting took place around the stunning Himagiri Homestay and surrounding hill regions of Basrikatte, graciously hosted by Pramod Pinto. The picturesque landscapes, mist covered hills, and lush greenery provided the perfect backdrop for the story, but nature had its own plans.
The team faced relentless heavy rains throughout the shoot. Cast and crew found themselves stranded in the hilly terrain as weather conditions worsened. Everyone was soaked as they continued working through the rain, determined not to let the circumstances derail the project.
Adding to the challenges the crew also encountered a wild elephant on the way at the ghats, bringing the shoot to a temporary halt. For nearly two to three hours, the team had to suspend operations and prioritise safety before they could resume filming.
Despite these obstacles, the spirit of the team never wavered. Their determination, patience, and passion allowed them to push forward and continue filming amidst the unpredictable conditions.
The hardships of the shoot ultimately paid off. Cinematographer, editor, and DI colourist Prajwal Suvarna masterfully captured the stunning beauty of the Western Ghats landscape, transforming every frame into a visual treat.
The rolling hills, misty valleys, winding roads, and lush estate surroundings create a cinematic atmosphere that perfectly complements the emotional depth of the story. Every scene reflects the effort and dedication invested by the entire crew.
The screenplay, direction, cinematography, editing, and colour grading blend seamlessly to create a visually rich and emotionally compelling experience.
Behind every successful production stands a committed team, and Amchi O’Dhuri Kanni is no exception.
The music, produced by Rosh Fernandes, beautifully supports the song’s emotional narrative. Vocals were recorded at Daijiworld Studios by Srikanth Srinivas, while the song was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winning music director Vanil Veigas, giving it a polished and professional sound. Thanks to Joel Merwin Crasta in lending his financial support for the Music Production.
The project was further strengthened by the contributions of assistant cameraman Harsha Kalyan, poster designer Suhail of Digiphins Innovation Pvt Ltd, production crew members Shaun D’Souza and Renol Veigas of Rawcut Studios, co artists Avil Rodrigues and Vivita D’Souza and voice over artists Clanwin Fernandes and Sweedal D’Souza, and numerous others who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
Special appreciation goes to Pramod Pinto for providing access to the beautiful Himagiri Estate location and extending invaluable support throughout the production.
