Mangaluru, Jun 10: With bright smiles, excitement and cheerful anticipation, Lourdes Central School, Bejai, joyfully welcomed its pre-KG students on June 8. The inaugural programme, held in the LCS Corridor Hall, brought together the manager, Fr Stany Pereira, the principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira, the vice principal, Anita Thomas, staff members, parents and children for a delightful celebration.

The programme commenced with a prayer invoking God's blessings upon the little ones. Sr Rupa delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings to all present with joy and enthusiasm.

The academic year was inaugurated in a vibrant and engaging manner by the manager, principal, vice principal, staff members and students through the unveiling of a colourful rainbow display, along with books, toys and other learning materials, marking a cheerful and playful beginning for the children.

The manager, Fr Stany Pereira, addressed the gathering and highlighted the opportunities available to children today. Describing the little ones as twinkling stars, he encouraged parents to nurture their aspirations and expressed hope that they would one day grow into doctors, scientists, engineers and other successful professionals. Quoting, “A journey of a thousand miles begins here,” he spoke about the importance of every child's first step in learning and assured parents of a nurturing environment for their children.

The principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira, addressed the gathering and introduced the pre-KG teachers to the parents. He spoke about the bright future that lies ahead for the children, expressing hope that they would grow into successful and responsible individuals. Comparing each child to a butterfly, he reminded parents that every child is unique and should not be compared with others, as each one grows and learns in their own way. He also thanked the parents for choosing Lourdes Central School as their child's first school and assured them of the school's commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching learning experience.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Kavya Salian, who anchored the programme with grace and warmth.

Later, the children happily posed for a group photograph with the dignatries in front of the KG corridor, capturing smiles, excitement and cherished memories of their first day at school.

The children, accompanied by their parents, the manager, the principal, the vice principal, and the teachers, then walked through the beautifully decorated school corridor to their classroom. Once inside, the children settled into their seats and posed for a group photograph, capturing another memorable moment of the day. They then spent some time exploring and playing with the toys arranged for them, filling the classroom with joy and excitement. As a sweet gesture, the little ones were also given lollipops, adding extra delight to their memorable day, before returning home with their parents.
