Mangaluru, Jun 11: A felicitation programme was held to honour Lancy Crasta, office assistant, who rendered 40 years of dedicated service to Rosario High School.
The retired staff member was welcomed with a guard of honour. The programme commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome dance by the students. Students expressed their gratitude through a farewell song and, as a mark of respect, presented him with a bouquet of flowers.
Genevieve D'Souza shared her experiences about his service, commitment, discipline, honesty, and sincerity. Student Fathima Sahama of Std X expressed her feelings on behalf of the students.

Jacintha Moras, headmistress of Rosario High School, read out the letter of honour and said that his service, punctuality, approachability, readiness to help, and sincerity will be remembered forever.
Lancy Crasta was honoured with a shawl, peta, fruits, flowers, and cash. His wife was also honoured with a bouquet of flowers.
In his reply, Crasta commemorated the events of his 40 years of service at Rosario High School and thanked patroness, the queen of the Holy Rosary, for blessing and protecting him throughout these years. He expressed gratitude to all the past correspondents, headmasters, and colleagues. He also thanked the present correspondent for his guidance, love, and appreciation, and the headmistress, teaching, and non-teaching staff for their love, affection, and cooperation. He added that the presence of students in large numbers made him very happy.
In his presidential address, correspondent Fr Valerian D'Souza said, “It is our privilege to have had such a dedicated person who will always be remembered. May your new beginning be filled with happy memories of the years you have spent contributing to the success of this school.”
Headmistress Jacintha Moras, primary HM Mavis Serrao, teaching and non-teaching staff, PTA executive committee members, and family members of the retired staff were present.
Teacher Sonia Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Teacher Laveena D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher Laveena Quadras compered the programme.
