Brahmavar: Elderly Tamil Nadu native killed in train mishap near Chantaru

Brahmavar, Jun 13: A 65-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train near Chantaru village under the limits of Brahmavar police station on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Doreswamy, a native of Tamil Nadu.

According to police sources, the incident occurred near the railway underbridge on Kunjalu Road in Chantaru village. The Rajdhani Express reportedly struck the man at around 7 am, killing him on the spot.

Preliminary information suggests that the train was travelling at high speed when the accident occurred. Police said the deceased was believed to have been suffering from mental health issues.

Doreswamy is survived by three children.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station, and further investigation is under way.
