Mangaluru, Jun 15: The Parents’ General Body Meeting for the academic year 2026–27 was held on June 13 at Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, CBSE Kotekar. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, staff and management.
The programme commenced with the master of ceremony by Prafulla, welcoming the gathering, followed by a prayer service seeking God’s blessings for the academic year ahead. A graceful welcome dance by the students added colour and warmth to the occasion.

Demcy delivered the welcome address, extending a cordial welcome to all the parents and guests. The chief guest and resource person of the programme, Fr Edward Rodrigues SJ, a distinguished educator, administrator, and spiritual guide, was then introduced to the gathering. Presently serving at Fathima Retreat House, he is actively engaged in spiritual ministry and conducts seminars for teachers, parents, and various groups.
In his inspiring session, Fr Edward emphasized the importance of values in family life and highlighted the adverse effects of excessive mobile phone usage among children. His thought-provoking talk encouraged parents to guide their children towards responsible and value-based living.
This was followed by the presentation of the school accounts by vice principal Sr Anitha AC, who provided parents with a clear and transparent overview of the institution’s financial activities and expenditures. The presentation reflected the school’s commitment to accountability and responsible financial management. Subsequently, the PTA election was conducted smoothly and successfully.
The principal, Sr Pramila AC, then addressed the gathering, sharing important updates, achievements, and plans for the academic year. She also encouraged parents to continue their wholehearted support and cooperation in the holistic development of their children.
The occasion was further enriched by the gracious presence of joint secretary Sr Maria Ujwala AC, PTA vice president Sudheer, and PTA coordinator Veekshitha. Their encouragement, guidance, and active involvement greatly contributed to the success of the programme and strengthened the bond between the school and parents.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prabha, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, parents, management, and staff for their support and participation.
The programme concluded with the national anthem.
The meeting served as a valuable platform for strengthening the partnership between the school and parents in promoting the holistic development of students.
