Dambulla, Jun 16: Pacer Ashok Sharma has been added to the India A squad for the ongoing tri-series in Sri Lanka as a replacement for injured Yudhvir Singh.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said Yudhvir experienced discomfort in his right shoulder while bowling and had also reported pain during an earlier fielding session.

According to the BCCI, the medical team has advised Yudhvir to undergo a structured rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCCI Centre of Excellence to ensure complete recovery from a right rotator cuff injury.

Ashok Sharma will now join the squad for the remainder of the tournament.

India A are currently struggling in the tri-series after suffering back-to-back defeats against Afghanistan A and hosts Sri Lanka A.

The team will look to bounce back when it faces Afghanistan A in its next match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday.
