MESCOM announces day-long power outages across M'luru, Moodbidri on Jun 17

Mangaluru, Jun 16: Residents and businesses in several parts of Mangaluru, Moodbidri and surrounding areas are set to face scheduled power interruptions on June 17 as the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) undertakes infrastructure upgrades and emergency maintenance works at multiple substations and feeder lines.

According to a MESCOM release, wedge connector installation works will be carried out at the Urwa Market GIS 33/11 kV Substation from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, necessitating a temporary shutdown of power supply in a large number of localities.

Areas expected to be affected include Urwa Market, S B Road, Cash Factory area, Ashoka Paradise Road, Hoyigebail, Sequeira Lane, Vettail No 1, Kallavu, Modern Rice Mill Road, Sultan Battery, Bolur Vettail area, Bolur, Bokkapatna Barke, Mannagudda, Urwa Church Road, Panchalingeshwara Temple area, Sai Baba Temple surroundings, Desai Beedi Road, Malaraya Dwara, Springfield Layout, Malaraya Temple area, Urwa Stores, Ayyappa Gudi, Infosys area, Engineering Road, Sagar Court, Dambel, Phalguni Nagar, Yenepoya Saw Mill Road, Dambel Riverside, Ashok Nagar Yuvaka Sangha Road, Urwa Marigudi Temple Road, Yashasvi Nagar, Malaraya Layout, Anvith Apartment, Jeshta Wood, Gokul Hall, Ashok Nagar Junction, St Anthony Colony Road, Canopy Apartments, Bapuji Nagar, Sunkadakatte, Kavitha Residency, Raghu Building Road, Kukkadi, Kodikal, Ganesh Bhajana Mandir area, Balli Compound, GST Sabha Road, Kodikal Katte, SSTP, Kanchikaraguthu, Nagabrahma Sannidhi Road, Farm Field Layout, Kurumba Temple Road, Hegde General Store area, J B Lobo Road, Kottara Chowki, Vivekananda Nagar, Fourth Mile, Alagudde Road, Telephone Exchange Road, Tilaknagar, areas behind Dustan Liver, Amritanandamayi School, S P Road, Jarandaya Temple, Prabhu Sweets and surrounding localities.

Emergency maintenance in Kankanady and Bejai

MESCOM also announced emergency maintenance works on the 11 kV Mission Compound feeder emanating from the Kankanady 33/11 kV substation and the 11 kV Bejai Feeders from the 110/33/11 kV Bejai substation between 10 am and 5 pm on June 17.

As a result, power supply will remain suspended in Hebich School area, Balmatta New Road, Avery Junction, Shanthi Nilaya, Bejai New Road, Sanke Gudda, MCF Colony, Anegundi, Bejai Church area, Bejai Museum surroundings, Nodu Lane and neighbouring localities.

Beluvai, Aliyoor and Shirthady feeders to undergo maintenance

In a separate announcement, MESCOM said emergency maintenance works would be undertaken on the 11 kV Beluvai and Aliyoor feeders from the Moodbidri 110/11 kV Substation, as well as the 11 kV Daddal, Palke, Mantrady, Jogottu, Konaje, Daregudde, Makki Kaje and Shirthady feeders from the 33/11 kV Shirthady Substation.

The works are scheduled between 9.30 am and 6 pm on June 17.

Consequently, power supply will be interrupted in Shirthady, Koyikude, Pidamale, Bailabarke, Borugudde, Karnal Gudde, Hoompettu, Anegudde, Kukkudakatte, Margar Kala, Padukonaje, Mekaru Dwara, Arasukatte, Shubhamangala, Vidyanagar, Kaje, Kashipatna, Kana, Kalloli, Nadigudde, Kanthavara Cross, Beluvai, Bannadka, Coir Katte, Azad Nagar, Kariyanangadi, Malebettu, Manjanakatte, Kayade, Kesaragadde, Pelakunje, Moodayikadu, Beluvai Church area, Irvathur Cross, Gundukallu, Moodumarnadu, Kellaputhige, Daregudde, Arasukatte, Panapila, Aliyoor and adjoining areas.

MESCOM has appealed to consumers in all affected localities to make necessary arrangements in advance and cooperate with the utility during the scheduled maintenance and system improvement works, which it said are essential for ensuring reliable power supply and strengthening the distribution network.
