Kaup, Jun 17: A car travelling from Mangaluru towards Kundapur overturned after the driver reportedly lost control and crashed the vehicle into a road divider at Udyavar in the early hours of Wednesday, June 17.
The accident occurred at around 2 am opposite the Toyota showroom in Udyavar. According to sources, the car was proceeding towards Udupi when the driver lost control. The vehicle first struck the divider and then plunged into a newly constructed drainage channel along the Udupi–Mangaluru highway.
The impact of the crash caused extensive damage to the vehicle.
The occupants of the car reportedly sustained serious injuries in the mishap and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Local police visited the spot to conduct a preliminary assessment of the accident.
