Moodbidri, Jun 19: A youth from Marodi, who had sustained severe injuries in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers earlier this week, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Friday, June 19.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar, a resident of Marodi. The accident occurred last Monday night near Aliyoor. Bhaskar was reportedly riding his bike towards his wife's house in Kellaputhige when his vehicle collided head-on with an Activa scooter. The severe impact of the crash left Bhaskar with critical head injuries.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital and was undergoing intensive care. However, despite medical efforts, he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last on Friday.

It is gathered that Bhaskar hailed from a financially impoverished background. He is survived by a young child and his wife, who is currently pregnant. The sudden tragedy has left the grieving family in a state of shock and deep sorrow.
