Sullia: Two young brothers found dead in pond near home

Two minor brothers were found dead in a pond near their house at Kadeer in Murulya village under the Bellare police station limits on Saturday June 20.

According to a complaint filed by Vasantha (41), a resident of Kadeer in Murulya village, he was living with his wife and their two minor sons, both aged five years.

On June 20 afternoon, Vasantha had brought the children home from school. Later in the evening, he and his wife left the children at home and went to work in a nearby plantation.

After finishing work, when Vasantha's wife returned home, the children were missing. The couple searched the surrounding area and later found the bodies of the two children in a pond near their house.

According to the complaint, the children are suspected to have fallen into the pond while playing and drowned.

Based on the complaint, Bellare Police have registered a case under UDR No. 22/2026 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and have taken up further investigation.
