Mangaluru: Cow falls into well at Pacchanady; fire personnel, locals rescue it

Mangaluru, Jun 22: Fire and emergency services personnel, with the active assistance of local residents, successfully rescued a cow that accidentally fell into an open well at Bandale in Pacchanady on Sunday evening.

The cow belonged to a local resident named Franklin Fernandes. According to sources, the bovine was grazing near the open well on Sunday evening when it lost its footing and tumbled inside. The well was approximately 25 feet deep and contained water.

Since the incident occurred close to the house, the family members quickly noticed the cow falling and immediately alerted the Kadri fire station.

A team of fire personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. With the coordinated efforts of the rescue team and the locals, the cow was safely hoisted out of the well.

The rescue operation was conducted by Kadri fire station officer Albert Monis, assistant station officer Ramesh Dayakar, leading fireman Chandrahas Salian, driver Suresh Kumar, and personnel Mahesh and Rustum Pasha.
