Mangaluru, Jun 22: International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on June 20 at Lady Hill Victoria High School. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Jagadish Kavoor, a renowned yoga instructor, and Chaitra, also a skilled yoga instructor.
The programme commenced with a prayer service, invoking God's blessings for the success of the event. Vanshi of class 10 warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced our chief guest. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the beginning of knowledge.

Meghana from class 10 delivered a speech highlighting the significance of Yoga Day, emphasising its importance in promoting health and well-being. She was accompanied by Adelle D'Costa, who shared thoughtful insights as well.
Our chief guest, Jagadish elaborated on the vital role of yoga asanas in enhancing concentration and maintaining good health. He explained how regular practice of yoga can lead to a balanced mind and body. Following his speech, he demonstrated some essential yoga asanas and guided us through a few simple practices, encouraging everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routine.
Rhythmic yoga was presented by the students.
The event was both informative and inspiring, reminding us of the timeless benefits of yoga and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Jaishnavi.
