Kaup, Jun 24: A car overturned and came to rest on the road divider after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near a petrol bunk on National Highway 66 in Kaup on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the car was travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi when it veered out of control, overturned on the highway and mounted the central divider.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were passing through the stretch at the time of the accident, averting a major tragedy.
The car sustained significant damage in the mishap. However, the occupants escaped with minor injuries and were provided first aid by local residents.
Kaup police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Further investigation is underway.
