Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College hosts investiture ceremony & Founder’s Day celebration 2026–27

Mangaluru, Jun 24: St Agnes PU College hosted the investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 with great zeal on June 23. The programme was meaningfully intertwined with the celebration of the 106th Founder's Day and was centred around the theme, ‘Legacy – Mother Aloysia Lit the Lamp, We Keep it Burning'. The theme beautifully echoed the institution's commitment to carrying forward the vision, values, and spirit of service of its revered founder, Mother Aloysia.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer service led by Aneesha, invoking God's blessings upon the newly elected student leaders and the entire Agnesian family. Following the prayer, a floral tribute was offered to Mother Aloysia in grateful remembrance of her enduring legacy and contributions to women’s education.

Aisha Simin effusively welcomed the gathering. The programme was graced by the chief guest, Sr Dr Vinora AC, superior and joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions. PTA vice president Shabnam, staff, parents and students.

The highlight of the event was the introduction of the newly elected student leaders. Wilena Lewis introduced the dynamic student council for the academic year 2026–27.

Manishka Acharya introduced the class representatives and assistant class representatives, who symbolically represented the core values of the institution.

The cabinet members and class representatives, who were officially inducted by the principal, pledged to uphold the values of integrity, responsibility, leadership, and service.

As a token of gratitude and respect, Shubhavani, HOD & lecturer in computer science presented a flower pot to Sr Dr Vinora AC. A floral token was also presented to the PTA vice president by Ashwin, lecturer in electronics.

Sr Dr Vinora AC in her inspiring address to the students encouraged the leaders to translate their vision into reality. She emphasized that true leadership is rooted in service, empathy, and empowering others. She commended the student leaders and their parents. She reminded them that they are the guardians of a flame lit a century ago.

The ceremony concluded with a sincere vote of thanks proposed by Adithya Suvarna, expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, PTA members, staff, students, and all those who were integral to the success of the programme.

Priya Bharath, the charismatic host effortlessly compered the event and ensured its smooth and graceful flow. The cabinet inaugural and Founder's Day celebration truly captured the essence of youth leadership deeply entrenched in the core values and tradition. It served as a reminder that while Mother Aloysia lit the lamp of knowledge and service, it is now the responsibility of every Agnesian to keep that flame burning brightly for generations to come.

The entire solemn and memorable programme was ably organized by the department of physics.
