Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Mar 18: Congress leader, Ugrappa, said that the Lok Sabha bypoll has been imposed on the people because of irregularities running into thousands of crores of rupees indulged in by former Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa, who was jailed for the same.

Ugrappa was addressing a public meeting organized here on Friday March 16 to solicit votes for his party.

“BJP is full of corruption and scandals. That party poses danger to the society as a whole. That party, which never did anything about bringing back black money stashed away in foreign banks when in power at the centre, has now been trying to misguide the people by crying hoarse on the issue,” he said. He praised Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, for entering into agreement with 86 countries in a bid to take firm steps to curtail the habit of Indians to  deposit their ill-gotten wealth in foreign countries. He called upon voters to elect Congress candidate, K Jayaprakash hedge, as he said, BJP is both uncultured and corrupt.

Kannada actress, Umashree, said that Congress party, which ruled the country for 50 years, had never based its programmes on the basis of castes or religions. She said that the Hindus, who account for 80 percent of the population, have benefitted immensely through the programmes implemented by Congress.

The meeting was also addressed by district Congress president, K Gopal Poojary, former minister, B Ramanath Rai, actor, Adi Lokesh,  actress, Bhavana, and others.

MLA, U T Khader, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president, Pravin Kumar Shetty, and several party leaders were present.

If Yeddyurappa is found guilty of the illegal activities that he has been accused of, he should be put away in Tihar jail for at least 20 years, so that he cannot trouble honest and good CM like DV Sadananda Gowda ... It is said that today (March 18th) is DVS birthday and strangely we don't find cutouts all over Bangalore and Karnataka, unlike the days of BSY, when for every small occasion we could find his posters all over Bangalore ... Obviously, ill-gotten private money or public tax payer money was being squandered by BSY and his ministers. Contrastingly, DVS is supposed to have told to remove any cutouts of him in the city, stating that he cannot celebrate birthday in a grand fashion given the drought situation in north Karnataka. DVS behaviour is unlike, atypical of any current day Indian politician. He needs time and people's support to succeed, which can happen if BSY is put away for good in Tihar jail for at least 20 years !
