Chicalim-Colvale, Jun 25: A 60-year-old man, Krishna Naik, died after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of youths for questioning them over drinking alcohol and riding motorcycles at high speed near his residence at Chicalim-Colvale.
According to reports, Naik had confronted the youths after noticing them consuming alcohol and speeding on bikes in front of his house. His objection allegedly angered the group, leading to a violent attack.

The youths allegedly assaulted Naik with a wooden danda and also kicked and punched him. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have arrested two persons in connection with the case, while two others are reportedly absconding.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
