Former Mangaluru mayor Hilda Alva passes away

Mangaluru, Jun 26: Former Mangaluru Mayor and senior politician Hilda Alva passed away at a private hospital on Thursday, June 25.

She had been undergoing treatment after suffering from illness for the past few days but did not respond to treatment and breathed her last.

A progressive leader from Mangaluru, Hilda Alva worked towards the development of the city's infrastructure and the empowerment of women during her tenure as Mayor. She earned the appreciation of the public for her people-friendly administration.

According to family sources, details regarding the public viewing of her mortal remains and the funeral will be announced shortly.

Prominent political leaders, public representatives, and dignitaries from the district have expressed deep condolences over Hilda Alva's demise.
