Beltangady: Car crashes into electric pole at Sulkeri, passengers have providential escape

Beltangady, Jun 26: A horrific road accident occurred in Sulkeri village of the taluk on Friday, June 26 morning, leaving a car completely mangled. Fortunately, the passengers inside the vehicle narrowly escaped a major disaster and sustained only minor injuries.

According to the details, a Maruti Suzuki car plying on the highway in Sulkeri village lost control and crashed into an electric pole by the roadside in the early hours of Friday. The impact of the collision was so severe that the concrete pole snapped and collapsed onto the car. The front portion of the vehicle, including the bonnet, bumper, and engine, was completely destroyed.

Due to the mishap, live electric wires snapped and fell onto the road, leading to a power outage in the vicinity. Mescom personnel rushed to the spot and immediately initiated repair works.

It is gathered that the injured passengers have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Official details regarding their exact health condition are yet to be provided by the police.

Personnel from the Beltangady traffic police station visited the accident spot and conducted a thorough inspection.
