Bengaluru: St Joseph's University hosts orientation programme for students, parents

Bengaluru, Jun 27: The student and parent orientation programme for the academic year 2026–27, marking the inaugural academic year of St Joseph’s University – Block B, was conducted on June 19 and 20 at the university auditorium. The programme was organized for the newly admitted students and parents of the BCom, BA (economics, journalism and psychology), BCA, and BBA programmes.

The orientation aimed to familiarize students and their parents with the university’s academic framework, examination regulations, mentoring system, student support services, code of conduct, and the various opportunities available for holistic growth and development. It also provided an overview of the academic and administrative processes that students would encounter during their university journey.

The chief guest, Dr Ashwini N V, director of Muktha Foundation, addressed the parents and emphasized the significance personal growth, and mental well-being in shaping responsible and successful individuals. Her insightful interaction with parents highlighted the importance of a supportive partnership between families and educational institutions.

The programme also featured informative sessions by university officials, Dr Victor Lobo SJ, vice chancellor, Dr Christo Selvan, Pro-VC, Dr Wajeed, registrar, Prof Dr Godwin, COE and others. They introduced various academic, administrative, and student-support initiatives of the University. These sessions provided clarity regarding institutional expectations and available resources, enabling students to begin their academic journey with confidence.

The orientation programme was coordinated by Dr Sara Kutty and Parul Batra. The event served as an important platform for strengthening collaboration between the University and parents, while helping students transition smoothly into university life and become active members of the St Joseph’s University community.
